Sufferings which can be avoided

Do we need much to be happy?
Not happy with emotional explosion of joy
which many people take for happiness,
But happy with the state of calmness and peace,
which does not make me rush in the daily routine,
but reveals the point of each day.

People are born, get familiar with new feelings,
grow, discovering constant changes:
in their bodies, in sensory perceptions,
in the world around and in their own relationships with it.
They learns to be the masters of their own body, language and mind.
They wonder if they discover something new,
Encounter with fear and conflict,
With envy and inequality of feelings,
Lies and superstitions, trust and narrow-mindedness...
They feel rage and irritation,
love and hatred, pity and spite, sadness and joy.
Experience attachment and aversion, sufferings and bliss.

We always want something.
This wanting is the result of constant evaluation of
things we encounter with.
All our life becomes a ride along an illusionary road,
where the navigator is our memory about something we liked,
which had created in our mind attachment to the moment of bliss;
or something we didn't like, which had left vestiges of
fear, pain, disgust, grudge and distrust in our memory.

The memory about the bliss which we had once experienced,
or appealing stories we had heard from someone,
become our irritators , covering
the vision and sensation of the real moment of life like smoke.
This moment always passes unnoticed by us,
not tasted, or smelt, or touched...
But maybe, in our constant search for something better,
We have missed the true bliss of contemplation of the life now, at this very moment?
Often only when the day comes to its end,
discover we that it has ended.
Yes, we remember what we were doing this and that, but...
What did we feel then?

Feelings of emotional explosions appear to be the most vivid!
Indeed! They remained in our memories
as new discovery of potentials of pleasant and unpleasant things
and became the fuel for continuation of our illusionary quest.
But what happened in between?
This huge chunk of time as if had fallen into the deep.
Days, weeks. months, years pass like this.

When we are looking for happiness it is useful to ask yourself the question:
What are we actually looking for? What can happiness give us?
And if we eventually have it, will we be absolutely happy?
But what do we really need
to feel satisfied, peaceful and calm?

A person needs food, clothes, shelter and communication to live...
All this must be healthy and in plenty.
Must possessing "things" necessary for life
bring us bliss and joy?
-Of course it must, but...
We must be able to find bliss from in what we have
and not to seek it in our dreams.
Gaining self-sufficiency is quite difficult.
it can only reveal itself
if the person has natural understanding of what we have.

This understanding does not come out of nowhere by itself;
it is formed by limiting attachments to bliss itself
and exercising gratitude for acquiring it.
Self-limitation reveals
a great resource of energy and time for us
which can be dedicated to charity,
self-improvement, and learning something new...
All this can provide additional impulses for bliss!

Gratitude releases us from the feeling of boiling with anger
which turns into an explosion and tears apart us and other body parts.
Even when sometimes it seems that there is nothing to be thankful for,
it is useful to thank for gaining negative experience
as a kindly lesson of understanding clearly the situation.
Because it is when we show gratitude we gain Clarity.
In Clarity revives Wisdom and shows us
the ways to bliss of which we have never been aware.

Phenomena of the world only then torture us,
when we accept them as associated with
what our mind's inclinations to favors and aversions are.
But they cease to be sufferings
when our self-sufficiency releases us from silly wishes:
to possess the best, become more important, be praised and adored...
Thus the changes of our attitude to trivial manifestation of life
erases worries and sufferings from our way.
Let the Good be!
