Силу тяготения земли
первыми открыли пехотинцы —
поняли, нашли, изобрели,
а Ньютон позднее подкатился.

Как он мог, оторванный от практики,
кабинетный деятель, понять
первое из требований тактики:
что солдата надобно поднять.

Что солдат, который страхом мается,
ужасом, как будто животом,
в землю всей душой своей вжимается,
должен всей душой забыть о том.

Должен эту силу, силу страха,
ту, что силы все его берёт,
сбросить, словно грязную рубаху.
Встать.
Вскричать «ура».
Шагнуть вперёд.

Фотография «Комбат». Фоторепортер Макс Альперт запечатлел 12 июля 1942 года, как на Южном фронте во время сражения под Ворошиловградом, офицер поднялся во весь рост из окопа и закричал: «За мной! За Родину! Вперёд!». Снимок считается одним из символов Великой Отечественной войны.

Имя офицера на этом снимке долго оставалось неизвестным вплоть до начала 1970-х. Лишь в 1974 году выяснилось, что настоящего командира роты лейтенанта Петренко, получившего ранение, подменял в бою Алексей Гордеевич Еременко, младший политрук 220-го стрелкового полка 4-й стрелковой дивизии 18-й армии.

Эта должность стала для Алексея Еременко последней. Алексея Гордеевича похоронили в братской могиле у села Хорошее Славяносербского района тогда Ворошиловградской области.

Памятник Алексею Еременко был торжественно открыт в канун 35-летия Великой Победы 7 мая 1980 г.  Память о подвиге младшего политрука Алексее Еременко стала неотъемлемой частью жизни жителей Славяносербского района ныне Луганской области.

The Earth's gravity force first was found
by infantries, who studied the data —
invented it, marching on the ground,
Newton with his apple rolled up later.

Could he, divorced from practice, who did adhere
to his study, comprehend, so sharp, -
that the first of demands of tactics is here:
a soldier must be lifted up.

That a soldier, who with the fear is bound,
who by horror, as if with his gut
and with his soul squeezes into the ground,
must forget the fear with all his heart.

He must throw off this fear, fear's force, at last,
that drains his strengths and makes him feel bad,
like a dirty shirt; after then he must
Rise.
And shout «Hurrah!».
And step ahead.

Photo: «Combat». Photojournalist Max Alpert captured this image of an officer rising to his full height from a trench during the Battle of Voroshilovgrad on July 12, 1942, on the Southern Front. He shouted, «Follow me! For the Motherland! Forward!». The photo is considered one of the symbols of the Great Patriotic War.

The name of the officer in this photo remained unknown for a long time, until the early 1970s. Only in 1974 it was revealed that the real company commander, Lieutenant Petrenko, who had been wounded, was replaced in combat by Alexey Gordeevich Yeremenko, a junior political instructor of the 220th Rifle Regiment of the 4th Rifle Division of the 18th Army.

This position would prove to be Alexei Eremenko's last. He was buried in a mass grave near the village of Khoroshye in the Slavyanoserbsky District of what was then the Voroshilovgrad Region.

The monument to Alexei Yeremenko was solemnly unveiled on May 7, 1980, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the Great Victory. The memory of the feat of junior political instructor Alexei Yeremenko has become an integral part of the lives of the residents of the Slavyanoserbsky district, now in the Luhansk region.
