Some people look for luck and wealth.
Some search for happiness and bliss.
One person dreams of perfect health,
the other wants to live in peace.
But, to be honest, I’m that man
who longs for joy and silence when
one can take pleasure in a sight
of children playing side by side
with kittens. I enjoy the life
when arm in arm you and your wife
can walk somewhere in a park
around a pond and, in the dark,
sit on an old fallen tree
having a chat and feeling free.
Small pleasures and a loving gaze
full of shy tenderness and grace
are more attractive than all wealth
and futile thoughts of luck and health
simply because small joys revive
the very feeling of true life
and make my soul realize
that simple life is Paradise.
