Приветствую тебя, весёлая весна!
Блестя, звуча, благоухая,
И силы жизненной, и радости полна,—
Как ты красива, молодая!

Лицом к лицу с тобой один бродя в лесу
И весь твоим подвластен чарам,
Советы я себе разумные несу,
Как подобает людям старым.

Я говорю себе: «Смотри почаще вниз;
Везде цветок увидишь нежный;
Душистых ландышей здесь массы; берегись,
Чтоб их не смять ногой небрежной.

Старайся уловить и света, и теней
Игру в причудливых узорах,
И кашель сдерживай, чтоб слышались ясней
Напевы птиц и листьев шорох».

Greetings to you, oh, dear spring, forever merry!
Shining, sounding, scenting, full of sun,
And vitality, and joy, and colors glary, —
How beautiful you are, always young!

Face to face with you, roaming in the wood alone,
Being completely under your spell,
I give myself quite clever advice, of my own,
As befits the old people as well.

I tell myself, "More often, look down, on the ground;
All o'er, you'll see a soft bloom or stem;
The fragrant lilies of the valley bloom around;
Care, not to crush with your remiss foot them.

Try to catch both the light and the shadows' playing
In intricate patterns, that form throngs,
Choke the cough, to hear clearer in the trees, swaying,
The leaves' rustle, also the birds' songs".
