Ещё в полях белеет снег,
А воды уж весной шумят —
Бегут и будят сонный брег,
Бегут, и блещут, и гласят…

Они гласят во все концы:
«Весна идёт, весна идёт,
Мы молодой весны гонцы,
Она нас выслала вперёд!

Весна идёт, весна идёт,
И тихих, тёплых майских дней
Румяный, светлый хоровод
Толпится весело за ней!..».

Fields' snow shines still, but waters pour,
With spring already, roaring loud —
They run, awake a sleepy shore,
They run, they sparkle, and they shout...

And Spring waters shout far and wide:
«Spring's coming, Spring's coming, we flow,
The heralds, of Spring young and bright,
She sent us forth for all to know!

Spring's coming, Spring's coming today,
Quiet, and tender May days' dance,
Rosy, bright May days' roundelay,
Joyfully circles Her, at once!..».
