Мимо изгороди шаткой,
Мимо разных мест
По дрова спешит лошадка
В Сиперово, в лес.
Дед Мороз идёт навстречу.
— Здравствуй!
— Будь здоров!..
Я в стихах увековечу
Заготовку дров.
Пахнет ёлками и снегом,
Бодро дышит грудь,
И лошадка лёгким бегом
Продолжает путь.
Привезу я дочке Лене
Из лесных даров
Медвежонка на колене,
Кроме воза дров.
Мимо изгороди шаткой,
Мимо разных мест
Вот и въехала лошадка
В Сиперово, в лес.
Нагружу большие сани
Да махну кнутом —
И как раз поспею к бане,
С веником притом!

Past the shaky hedge here, yards there,
To forests' neighborhood
Of Siperovo, runs my mare
Just for firewood.
Father Frost comes up to meet nice:
— Hello!
— Health to both!..
For sure, I shall immortalize
The chopping log's verse.
Air smells of firs and snow sunny,
Briskly breathes my chest,
My mare is all the way running,
Lightly, without rest.
I'll bring to my Helen daughter,
A bear cub on knee,
And other forest's gifts, a lot of,
Not just logs, you'll see.
Past the shaky hedge here, yards there,
My mare did fast ride
In Siperovo, where trees glare
In the forest's snow white.
I’ll fill big sleigh with wood and boughs,
Crack whip in the air,
And I'll arrive at the bathhouse,
With a birch broom there!
