Ещё не зная дня и часа,
Когда наступит торжество,
Над Волгой и в степях Донбасса
Мы свято верили в него.

Сквозь дни утрат, печали, скорби,
В пределы вражеской земли,
Не оступаясь, плеч не горбя,
Мы эту веру пронесли.

И в час полночного привала,
И в час всевластия свинца
Она надеждой согревала
Ожесточённые сердца.

Мы так неистово хотели
Приблизить долгожданный час,
Что ни снаряды, ни метели
В пути не задержали нас.

И вот сегодня в дни четвёртой
Весны сражений и тревог,
В дыму и прахе распростёртый,
Берлин лежит у наших ног.

Не умолкает гром орудий
Бушует пламя в дымной мгле.
И говорят друг другу люди:
— Есть справедливость на земле!

И ныне, перед всей вселенной,
Той справедливости закон,
Святой, незыблемый, нетленный,
Отвагой смелых утверждён.

Мы совесть мира. И отмщенье
Несли мы сквозь огонь и ад.
Ты высшей правды воплощенье,
Бесстрашный сталинский солдат.

Not knowing yet the day and hour right:
When Victory's triumph would come,
On Volga and in Donbass steppes wide, -
We believed holy, but kept mum.

Through the days of loss and sorrow black,
Into the borders of foe's land,
Without stumbling, without hunching back,
We'd carried this faith till the end.

And at the hour of the midnight halt,
And at the hour of bullets' force,
It had been warming with hope our cold
And too hardened hearts on this earth.

We had been wishing, throughout the war,
To bring the long-awaited day!
Neither death shells nor snowstorms, therefore,
Did not delay us on the way…

And so now, in the days of the fourth -
Spring of fights, alerts, foe's retreat,
Sprawled in the smoke and dust of the earth,
Berlin itself lies at our feet!

The thunder of the guns does not cease.
The flame rages in smoky haze.
And people say to each other this:
— Exists on earth justice, we face!

And now, before universe total,
Of that justice the law is learned,
Holy, unshakable, immortal,
By courage of brave it's confirmed!

The world's conscience we're, the vengeance whose -
Has been carried through fire and hell.
You're embodiment of highest truth,
Fearless Stalin's soldier, and peace as well!
