От Кубани к верховьям Донца
Мчится ветер, степной непоседа,
Полнит музыкой наши сердца
Долгожданное слово ПОБЕДА.

В этом слове — солдатская честь,
Радость встреч после долгой разлуки.
В этом слове свершённая месть
За обиды, за слёзы и муки.

Мы идём по равнине степной,
Серебристой овеяны пылью.
Будто сразу у всех за спиной
Распахнулись орлиные крылья.

И летят наши думы к тому,
Кем начертана радости дата,
Кто прошёл сквозь кровавую тьму
Твёрдым шагом вождя и солдата.

Он под пулями дрогнувший ряд
Останавливал окриком строгим,
Он меж злых и усталых солдат
Шёл в строю по военным дорогам.

Но сгорая в бессонном труде,
О себе не заботясь нимало,
Он был с нами незримо везде,
Где сомненье людей настигало.

Возмужали мы, горечь и злость
Полной мерой в страданьях изведав:
И в сердцах наших верных слилось
Слово СТАЛИН со словом ПОБЕДА!

From Kuban to Donets' upper course,
A brisk steppe wind sweeps; with song elated,
Is filling our hearts, till bottoms, forth —
Great word VICTORY — too long-awaited!

In this word — soldier's honor crede,
After a long parting, — meeting's fortune;
In this word — the revenge, full, complete,
For offences, for tears and for tortures.

We are walking along a plain steppe,
With silver dust elsewhere on us getting.
As if, at once, behind our backs clap -
The eagle's wings, widely and proudly spreading.

And all of our thoughts fly to the one,
Who wrote this sweet date by a sword bitter,
Who walked through the bloody dark and sun -
With the firm step of soldier and leader!

Under bullets he stopped the flinched flanks,
By an immense strength of his shout severe,
In line midst hard, tired soldiers and tanks,
He walked along the roads of war and rear.

Burning up, with no sleep night and day,
With no care of himself, he was working,
Unseen, he was with us in each way,
Where could only crept the doubt provoking.

We've matured, bitterness, anger were
Tried to the full extent in the torture,
In our true hearts, a word with one more:
STALIN with VICTORY has been merging!
