Afanasiy Fet

In the night darkness I’m fond of to stand in the room at a window
    When the full moon from the heights calmly is looking at me,
When it is painting with rays on the clean floor its regular squares,      
    Flooding the room through the glass with a diaphanous smoke,
While in the garden the light is bisecting black groups of the crowns
    Running through branches of trees with an unstable shaky beams –
Downwards its golden arrows are streaming alike a bright shower,    
    Either a separate leaf stands in the way of the rays,
Tending to halt the moonlight to spell shining speckles on the ground;            
    Tinged it is in the light, black on the shadowy earth.
I would declare: is happy - blissful the one, oh, Diana,
    Who by the all-mighty fate into your secrets is let!

Любо мне в комнате ночью стоять у окошка в потёмках,
    Если луна с высоты прямо глядит на меня 
И, проникая стекло, нарисует квадраты лучами
    По полу, комнату всю дымом прозрачным поя,
А за окошком в саду, между листьев сирени и липы,
    Чёрные группы деля, зыбким проходит лучом   
Между ветвями – и вниз её золочёные стрелы
    Ярким стремятся дождём, иль одинокий листок
Лунному свету мешает рассыпаться по земи, сам же
    Цветом осыпанный весь, чёрен, дрожит на тени.
Я восклицаю: блажен, трижды блажен, о Диана,
    Кто всемогущей судьбой в тайны твои посвящен!
