From his slim Palace in the Dust by Emily Dickinso
он к Царству шлёт тому,
чей верен более исход,
что долей стал ему.
(Эмили - об упокоившемся родителе,
возможно, над его могилой.)
[David Preest:
Edward Dickinson, Emily’s father, died on 16 June 1874, and this poem
could well refer to him. He was the King of the house, but now from his
‘Palace’ in the grave can only ‘relegate’ his household ‘Realm’ to his
family, who surprisingly feel more loyal to him after his departure in
death. Perhaps they tended to forget his stern, unsmiling side and to
remember his more lovable qualities.]

From his slim Palace in the Dust
He relegates the Realm,
More loyal for the exody
That has befallen him.
