Marina Tsvetaeva - You resemble me as you roam

You resemble me as you roam
Letting your eyes drop.
Me too used to cast eyes down -
Passer-by, stop -

And read – after you have ripped
Poppies and a buttercup gift -
That my name was Marina –
That I also - lived.

Don’t think you’re seeing a grave,
Or that I appear ghostly…
I was so fond of laughing
I wasn’t allowed mostly!

My blood used to make me blush,
And my hair waved curly...
Passer-by, please don’t rush,
Passer-by, stop shortly...

And pick up a wild stem for you,
And then pick a berry, --
You won’t find sweeter ones
Outside cemetery.

Only - do not stand gravely
Drooping your head -
Think of me lightly
And lightly may you forget.

May the ray embrace you!
May you bathe in the golden dust…
 - And don’t be too confused
With my voice under the crust.
