You said one day that you’ll die for me…
I do hope you won’t do something foolish
Like that… I don’t need such a demonstration.
Believe me, I don’t need it. Honestly, I don’t need.
Better be near me whenever you can. Even if only
As a spirit… Give me some attention, a bit of compassion
And a smile… Help me to stay on the Earth, it’s enough
For the moment… Make me want to stay here.
Please, don’t try to impress, just be yourself –
Attentive, understanding, kind, strong, amusing,
Open-minded, adventurous, smart… Be yourself for me.
Dare me to risk rafting or kiting or diving or racing…
Let’s go trekking somewhere afar… Let’s take a trip
Across continent or sail around the world…
Let’s do something crazy together – cross the Himalaya
Or Atlantic, fly down from Everest… Or start some
Risky business or scientific project… Or publish
New book… Let’s invent something unusual together.
Let’s do it for pure excitement of surpassing ourselves,
Of pushing away the limits, of reaching, no, exceeding
Our dreams and finding precious inner harmony through
Extreme action.
I’m ready for anything but being bored, especially
By you or with you…
So tell me frankly, are you ready for this?
You know, perhaps dying is much more easier
Than living near me…
