The way to find out is to say it. The tradeoff is the risk of losing the status-quo, and if you'd rather do that then keep guessing then go ahead and hit "send" - else, don't. It's simply a matter of choice. Been there! :-) Sounds like in this case it's more valuable to keep everything as is rather than risk ruining it for the sake of possibly moving things one step furhter. That's actually a very good sign - it means that what is there now is really, really good, else why is it not worth losing? Enjoy what you've got! :-) (Just some thoughts - as you can tell I can very well relate to the verse)

Oh, this poem is a few years old by now. But the story's rather typical, yes. This one had a happy ending :-)
