Donald Trump bizarrely claimed that he has kept "far more" promises than he even made in his final frantic message to the American public ahead of the midterms.
Rather than spending the eve of the crucial elections to travel to key states as his Republican Party grapples to maintain control of Congress, the 80-year-old president made his closing pitch of the midterm elections at at a Washington renovation project that has been embarrassing and contentious for him.
Trump delivered a nearly hour-long speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. "We've achieved more in less than two years than any administration in American history and I've kept every single promise I made," Trump said at one point while reading from a piece of paper below him.

The president then raised his head and looked at the press as he added: "Except far more, I've actually kept far more promises than I made. We've done much more than I promised." Trump did not explain how it is possible to keep promises you never made.
Critics were quick to ridicule the president's wild claim. "His stupidity and deceit defy logic," one X user commented.
