Gravity Part 3

Beneath the skin of stone,
a living fire glows,
A wordless longing lingers
where the deepest warmth still flows.

An ancient circle turning,
no doorway, start, or end,
And almost imperceptibly,
its pathway starts to bend.

No sign has crossed the silence,
no summons from afar,
Yet something in the distance
draws nearer to the heart.

Deep down, unseen, a current
is stirring in the flame,
And fire burns a little brighter,
with no reason it can name.

A slowly turning circle
grows tighter, drawing near,
The spaces between heartbeats
begin to disappear.

Beneath the stone the rhythm
beats stronger in the deep,
And waves of silent warmth
through hidden chambers sweep.

That distance once unending
bows lower than before,
And heat replies to heat
through layers at the core.

The space itself draws closer,
closer with every turn,
And the circle's quiet balance
begins to shift and burn.

From deepest hidden chambers
rises a wave of heat,
And stone responds in silence
with a current underneath.

Outside, the silence lingers,
untouched and perfectly still,
And peace gives way to longing
that slowly bends the will.

The closer comes the unseen fire,
the sharper bends the arc,
And silent pressure gathers
within the buried dark.

The axis holding up a world
tilts gently out of place,
And choice grows faint beneath the pull
of something without a face.

Closer…
Stronger…
Space grows thinner…
Longing runs deeper…

Time stands still…
The world goes still…
Only two flames…
Under skins of stone…
