We ll be together
Can I bring back, though I repeat it still,
Forgive us, Lord, for every fault and trial,
And grant us hope and faith and love to feel.
You left forever for another summer’s heat,
October gave me its last flowers to keep,
I’ll lay the bouquet by your portrait, sweet,
And smile: my happiness is you, so deep.
We’ll be together — I say and still believe,
Keep us, God, like a prayer, I whisper low,
We’ll be together, though we lose and grieve,
On the altar we’ll relight the candle’s glow.
All I have left is to hope for a wonder,
That you will come with the charm of the spring,
Despite the rains, from afar and from yonder,
To share with me all the rainbow dreams I bring.
Hope is a comfort when sadness is near,
A gift from heaven to the lonely alone,
I understood it all when footsteps I’d hear,
Two slender heels clicked and the bell’s ringing tone.
We’ll be together — I say and still believe,
Keep us, God, like a prayer, I whisper low,
We’ll be together, though we lose and grieve,
On the altar we’ll relight the candle’s glow.
(On the altar we’ll relight the candle’s glow.)
We’ll be together — I say and still believe,
Keep us, God, like a prayer, I whisper low,
We’ll be together, though we lose and grieve,
On the altar we’ll relight the candle’s glow.
(On the altar we’ll relight the candle’s glow.)
