Shadows in the Library

And there I walked along the shadowed street,
Beneath the roofs from centuries ago,
I felt old magic that ruled here indeed
But that was hidden from our eyes although.
And then I entered heavy wooden door
That hid my dreams awaiting long for me;
There were the shadows dancing on the floor -
Among them pleasing were no more than three.
They were the spirits of this ancient place:
One was the colour crossing seven worlds,
Another was the time to yield its place
To one that used to lurk at my threshold.
And there he sat with leather-covered book
And touched its pages with a thoughtful eye;
When I came in, he gave me just one look,
And I obeyed him reading by his side.
