3 10

VERSE 1
The same number is chasing me, it's carved into my tongue, it's cut on my skin.
I can't read it loud, can't repeat it, all I can do is think.
I think that it might be schizophrenia, epileptical side effects or something without a known name,
'Cause every number and person that I look at looks exactly the same.

Traffic outside is moving but I can't hear any engine sound,
People are walking but their feet are six inches off the ground.
I keep seeing the same numbers and can't understand what is going on
One man in a black hoodie is looking straight through me and keeps walking along.

I take my phone and see the  pictures that I never took,
All the faces are blurred out, but I recognize the look.
One photo shows me standing in the rain,
Another shows me jumping from a train.

I don't remember taking any of them,
But every picture ends with 03:10.
And every time I try to delete that frame,
The screen lights up and types my name.

HOOK
Whisper my name
But don't give it back to me.
Whisper my name
But don't try to heal me.

Whisper my name
I wanna hear it twice.
The first time made me human.
But then it changed my mind.

VERSE 2
I see a woman on the bus with my face,
Same eyes, same nose, same suitcase.
She looks at me and starts counting backwards,
Like she knows exactly what happens afterwards.

Ten.
Nine.
Eight.
No escape from cruel fate.

Seven.
Six.
No escape from sudden bliss.

Five.
Four.
No escape from the top floor.

Three.
Two.
No escape here for you.

One.
No escape, no way to run.

HOOK
Whisper my name
But don't give it back to me.
Whisper my name
But don't try to heal me.

Whisper my name
I wanna hear it twice.
The first time made me human.
But then it changed my mind.

VERSE 3
Now I can see the unseen and hear what people think
before they open their mouths.
I know what's wrong and who's gonna die
before they figure it out.
I know which child will become a saint or a liar,
Which feelingless stranger will become somebody's lover.

Every prediction I make
has already happened.
I'm not seeing the future, I'm remembering it.
I watched myself last night
standing underneath a streetlight,
Laughing while a hundred people ran away from me trying to hide.

I tried to warn them.

They wouldn't listen.

Then I saw what they were running from.

Just that number burning underneath my tongue

03:10.
03:10.
03:10.

It is not a warning.
It is a timestamp.

HOOK
Whisper my name
But don't give it back to me.
Whisper my name
But don't try to heal me.

Whisper my name
I wanna hear it twice.
The first time made me human.
But then it changed my mind.
