Check and mate

I opened E-4, he countered with E-5,
In this cutthroat tournament, I’m fighting to survive.
Knight to F-3 — let’s see how he plays,
He blocks with C-6, caught in a defensive haze.

I see your game plan, pal, you’re playing it tight,
But I’m hungry for blood, I’m looking for a fight.
My Bishop to C-4, I’m turning up the heat,
He moves D-7, trying not to face defeat.

He’s holding the fort, but I’m breaking the line,
My second Knight jumps in, the pressure is mine.
He brings out his Bishop, a sly little trick,
But I’m not a rookie, I’m playing it quick.

Castling early — I’m locking the door,
While hunting for forks, I’m craving for more.
I’m baiting a trap, let him take the wrong turn,
Watch the board catch fire, watch the pieces burn!

The trade is a bloodbath, a total exchange,
His structure is crumbling, his pieces look strange.
A pin on his Queen, he’s running out of breath,
One slip of the finger, and it’s sudden death.

My Rooks are like tanks, they’re rolling ahead,
Crushing his pawns, painting the board red.
He’s trapped in a corner, no place left to hide,
With nowhere to run and no one on his side.

He throws in the towel, the King’s on his knees,
I’ve got him in checkmate, doing as I please.
The game is a wrap, he’s out of the race,
Checkmate, my friend — get out of my space!
