Chrysanthemum blossoms
Chrysanthemum blossoms wither and fall to the ground,
Yet the sun lifts them up, breathing life back anew.
A dream lingers deep in my soul of the meeting I’ve found—
With the one I still wait for and love, ever true.
The song of the blossoms and leaves will soon end,
And the rain’s clumsy, tear-filled foxtrot will play.
My love, with the glow of a primrose, will transcend
Both the winter’s chill and the spring’s turning day.
And the stars will shine on with an undying light;
I will show them to you in the blazing, milky night.
This world—mad and happy, yet fleeting and frail—
Will be ours; and our love shall forever prevail.
