Drowning Inside You
past these walls, let the outside world just end.
I'll gather your thoughts, wind them into a skein,
we're alone, wrapped in night, where our own laws remain...
The sky — velvet and rhinestones, black velvet and sound,
we're burning together, our fingers wound round.
Waves breaking, soft whispers, meteors descending —
we need words of Revelation, a new world beginning.
Wept, wept, every second of dawn,
just one drop of summer was still holding on.
Wept, wept, two stars in the first morning light,
we wanted a passing comet to carry us out of sight.
Smiles dissolved where they touched your soft skin,
organ and violin, your lips' filigree,
however careful we tried to be,
only we can dissolve till there's no you, no me.
I drowned inside you, you dissolved into me,
and beautiful madness unfolded in a dream.
But the cold sun is blazing straight into our eyes —
by some unknown route, off this planet we fly!
Wept and sang, the cicadas' serenade —
you and I should never have to part this way.
Your skin slid softly through the curves of my palms,
you're so beautiful... I'm drowning inside of your moans.
Suddenly millions of bright stars all hid away —
I never knew ocean waves could burn this way.
Wept, wept, all the mirages of distance,
for us there is only together — no doubt, no resistance.
Wept, wept, a billion illusions undone,
unseen bonds dissolved us till two became one.
