Life Is a Wonder
To walk through life with ease, light and free.
Weddings and funerals, birthdays and goodbyes —
So much has happened. Time to lift my eyes.
Time to raise my head and watch the clouds that hide the sun,
The very clouds that drench us — leave us on the run.
They whip us with the rain and cover us with snow —
The clouds will be our shelter. That's the place we'll go.
Life is a wonder — the strangest, wildest magic I know.
Too short, too quick — before we taste it, feel it, watch it grow —
Before we understand the rhythm and the art,
It slips away, leaving us puzzled, lost, and without a heart.
June, July, August — noon and blooming green.
December's frost — the cruelest cold I've ever seen.
But after that — new year, a new spin around the light.
A Scottish cat inside my backpack makes the journey bright.
Captain Nemo's ship is ready for the final ride.
The cat sleeps by the window, dreaming of the tide.
I wave goodbye to all who came to watch me leave.
Not many? Still the truest ones — the ones who still believe.
Life is a wonder — the strangest, wildest magic I know.
Too short, too quick — before we taste it, feel it, watch it grow —
Before we understand the rhythm and the art,
It slips away, leaving us puzzled, lost, and without a heart.
And now — of love! Of course, it has to be about love.
It led me by the hand, it never let me stumble, shove.
And now she's waving with the rest — I see her silk so bright,
Her spring dress red, her whisper silver: "See you, darling — goodnight."
Yes, I can say it proudly: "I loved!" — the women, spring, the tune.
But more than that — the magic of life itself — the untamed bloom.
And in the evening, my Scottish cat purrs her tender song
That life's a wonder — magic, wild, and strong.
Life is a wonder — the strangest, wildest magic I know.
Too short, too quick — before we taste it, feel it, watch it grow —
Before we understand the rhythm and the art,
It slips away, leaving us puzzled, lost, and without a heart.
Life is a wonder — the strangest, wildest magic I know.
Too short, too quick — before we taste it, feel it, watch it grow —
Before we understand the rhythm and the art,
It slips away, leaving us puzzled, lost, and without a heart.
Life is a wonder…
Life is a wonder…
Life is a wonder…
