God Loves All the Same
Climbing to the top alone.
Seeking praise from every stranger,
Tasting victory on his throne.
Competition rules the nations,
In the school, the sport, the wage.
God Himself ordained this order —
Evolution's endless stage.
But what drives a man of faith?
What compels him on his road?
Is there striving to be greatest
In devotion to his God?
Is there competition in love?
A race to God's own heart?
To enter in His Kingdom
And skip the line at start?
Does it matter? Why, oh why?
For the Lord, we're all His own!
Not God from us — but we to Him!
Toward the rising Sun we're drawn!
