Star Garden

I look at a star on a lonely and thoughtful evening,
And my heart softly rings with the strings of a distant guitar.
I know in this life I will never be there where you’re breathing,
And no god, no prophet, no sorcerer knows where you are.

There is a road I can travel with only my eyes.
Through the heavenly spheres, I keep wondering where you may be.
Maybe, alone through a star garden under the skies,
Gently you touch all the flowers of stars that you see.

How much time had been given for us to be here together,
We never knew; we just lived, never counting the days.
All of that beautiful time we have called it our destiny —
One unique woven pattern of earthbound and wandering ways.

Memory pulls like a magnet, surrounding me with your attraction.
Stars call me into their distant, unreachable chain.
I look at the star, and I sing of you, never forgotten,
And love stays beside me through every change that remains.
