I Came to the Feet of Christ - ссылка в рецензии

Music and original lyrics by Sergey V. Danilchenko

VERSE 1

Many days have passed since the days’f Golgotha.
Yet His cross still makes us question why.
Still my soul keeps asking you the question:
“Why, O man, you nailed Christ to the cross to die?”

I, Barabbas, murderer and villain,
Had deserved the death that should be mine.
But The Christ bore shame and degradation.
Why? Tell me! For us, dying souls, through love Divine!

CHORUS:

I came to the feet of Jesus Christ,
With troubled heart, I wondered why:
“Why, O my God, did people nail You up to die?”
He looked into these eyes of mine,
With tenderness and love Divine,
And said, “MY SON, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU—THAT IS WHY!”

INTERLUDE - 1

VERSE 2

Go and ask the man named Bartimaeus
How The Christ restored his gift of sight!
How He gave a widow back her dead son,
Called him back to life from death’s dark night!

Why, then, did they nail those hands of Jesus
To the cross with cruel ’n’ rusty nails?
HANDS THAT BROUGHT SUCH GOODNESS TO THE PEOPLE
Loved us as children, with LOVE that NEVER FAILS!

INTERLUDE - 2

CHORUS — FIRST REPEAT:

I came to the feet of Jesus Christ,
With troubled heart, I wondered why:
“Why, O my God, did people nail You up to die?”
He looked into these eyes of mine,
With tenderness and love Divine,
And said, “MY SON, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU—THAT IS WHY!”

CHORUS — SECOND REPEAT:

I came to the feet of Jesus Christ,
With troubled heart, I wondered why:
“Why, O my God, did people nail You up to die?”
He looked into these eyes of mine,
With tenderness and love Divine,
And said, “MY SON, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU — THAT IS WHY!”

FINAL HALF-CHORUS:

You looked into these eyes of mine,
With tenderness and love Divine,
And said: “My son, because I love you SO MUCH — That is Why!”

FINAL REPEATS:

And said, “MY SON, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU — THAT IS WHY!”
„MY CHILD, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU SO MUCH — THAT IS WHY”

Eternal Glory be to You, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ !!!
