The birth of the Son — a celebration!
The birth of God — our life and light!
The birth of the Lord — our joy and gladness!
The Savior's born to make us right!
So long we waited for our Jesus!
So long we waited for the Christ!
We perished in the dark of ages,
In sin and sorrow, sacrificed!
Blessed are they who saw our Jesus!
Blessed are they who heard the Christ,
Who reached to touch the hem of garment
And felt the warmth of love and light!
And for us all who hold in faith
That Christ once lived and lives always,
There is mercy from the Son above
And forgiveness from the Father's grace!
