Grain of Sand

You’re gold amid the desert’s dunes,
The sun that scorches living things.
A tiger stalking hapless foes,
And now I'm in your sights, it seems.

You’re used to victories so light,
Adored, feared — they're on your side.
You stride through life without a thought,
Of those who once stood by your side.

I’m just a grain in time’s vast tide,
It rushes on, it can’t be tied.
A grain you found right by your side —
What should I do? Don't let me slide!

The blue sea lies so far, so high,
Since childhood, I’ve dreamed to dive.
Where every day your sun must die,
And only skies know how they die.

No one can say if you have heart,
For you show no sign of being frail.
I’d melt into you, play my part,
Like light that fades where green waves sail.

I’m just a grain in time’s vast tide,
It rushes on, it can’t be tied.
A grain you found right by your side —
What should I do? Don't let me slide!

Small cloud horses, swift and fleet,
Race o’er the cliff, beyond the peak.
In dreams I see your tiger eyes,
Then wake in tears, my soul feels weak.

The thirst for love outweighs death’s fright,
That’s known to those who crossed the lone.
Unbowed, unbroken, standing tight,
Who earned the right to love, alone.

I’m just a grain in time’s vast tide,
It rushes on, it can’t be tied.
A grain you found right by your side —
What should I do? Don't let me slide!

I’m just a grain in time’s vast tide,
It rushes on, it can’t be tied.
A grain you found right by your side —
What should I do? Don't let me slide!
