Kiss of Judas
A smile on your lips, and a knife from above.
You reached out your hand, and I believed in your touch,
But every embrace held a spear in its clutch.
Whispers in the dark, footsteps behind,
You stood beside me — but you were not mine.
The mask falls away, revealing the face,
You sold me for silver, you sold me for grace.
Kiss of Judas — burning on my lips!
Kiss of Judas — ashes and eclipse!
You kiss me — but you drive the blade,
Kiss of Judas — the betrayal you made!
Gethsemane garden — a city of walls,
Every friend is a traitor, every traitor calls.
You cried out "Master!" — and pressed your lips to mine,
While the mob behind you was sharpening the iron.
Thirty pieces of silver — and you're clean,
But your conscience is a rusted machine.
Did you think the water could wash it away?
You're cursed forever — you're cursed every day.
Kiss of Judas — burning on my lips!
Kiss of Judas — ashes and eclipse!
You kiss me — but you drive the blade,
Kiss of Judas — the betrayal you made!
The rope on your neck — that's your gift to the world,
The cross and the tree — your last flag unfurled.
You hanged yourself on your own disgrace,
But betrayal still lives in the human race.
Kiss of Judas — burning on my lips!
Kiss of Judas — ashes and eclipse!
You kiss me — but you drive the blade,
Kiss of Judas — the betrayal you made!
