sweet summer

My darling, turn your eyes to me,
Leave sadness by the window sea
The summer departed, leaving rain
Yet hope shall flourish once again

First pumpkin lanterns warm the night,
Then Christmas shines in silver white
The gentle spring will soon appear,
To bring the sunny meadow near

We shall return into the park,
With singing birds and joyful spark
A picnic on the soft green grass,
While golden days in beauty pass

The golden beam upon your brow
Erases every sorrow now
Your radiant smile begins to rise,
Reflecting wonder in your eyes

All seasons hold a lovely art,
From icy wind to autumn heart
Yet sweetest summer, bright and bold,
Remains the treasure made of gold
