The Merry Love Tale of Sir Leo and Lady Lana
But rode the beast instead in fearful flight!
Lady Lana watched from the forest side,
And laughed so hard she nearly dropped her pride.
The book is wrought in stained glass and gold,
A Quattroczento comedy to hold!
They ride the boar togetther through the night,
A fool and his love, a wonderful sight!
The ring got stuck upon his trembling hand,
He tugged and pulled, but could not understand!
She waited sweet, with patience most divine,
While the priest facepalmed and the cat said: "This is fine!"
He stepped upon her toe with mighty force,
And ruined quite the elegance of course!
She smiled through pain with gracious, noble air,
While courtiers laughed and pointed from their chair.
He tried to write her words of sweet desire,
But spilled the ink and set his page on fire!
She brought a cloth to wipe his messy face,
And thought: "This fool I love, despite his grace."
Oh, Sir Leo and his Lady Lana,
A love that spans from Rome to Gana!
Through fire and ink and boars that ride,
She smiles at him, and stays beside!
