I love you

We sit together in the fading light.
Don’t go. Not yet. There’s nowhere else to be.
You’re here, so close. Let day give way to night.
A little longer… stay right here with me.

Your lips brush mine. Don’t draw your hands away.
“I’m yours,” I whisper, pulling you in tight.
Our hearts beat loud; I drown them out and say,
“I’m yours.” Don’t hold back anything tonight.

Make me fall headlong from a dizzy height;
Then catch me near the ground and hold me fast.
It’s you-don’t doubt it-you who give me flight.
I rise with you, the earth left far below at last.

Your kisses burn. I melt beneath your gaze.
I cling to you; no words could hold this much.
Why search for meaning in a polished phrase,
When all I mean is answered by your touch?

And still I whisper, breath against your skin,
“I love you…” though you know each word is true.
“I love you…” And my soul replies within:
“I LOVE YOU… I love you… I love you.”
