ICE agents shot another person

This past week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents shot another person. Wilber Rafael Garc;s P;rez was working as a food delivery driver in Texas to support his son with a disability when he was shot by agents in his car.

Just hours later, ICE put him in a detention site. Wilber said they denied him pain medication and made him sleep on the floor. He then felt the left side of his body go numb – partially paralyzed.

This horrific mistreatment follows the killings of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, Johan Sebasti;n Dur;n Guerrero, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE earlier this year and Ruben Ray Martinez last year.

When will enough be enough? Congress must act immediately to get these reckless, violent agents out of our streets. Join us in calling for immediate action from our leaders now.

From Maine to Texas, and beyond, a surge of agents is flooding our streets. Under the guise of protecting our communities, they are doing the exact opposite – making our country less safe.

These agents have already killed multiple people in our streets as part of Stephen Miller and President Trump's crusade against immigrants. We're relieved that Wilber is alive – but horrified that we are once again facing an ICE shooting with no accountability.

The violence we have seen this year is the heartbreaking but foreseeable outcome of an out-of-control agency getting a nearly unlimited budget from Congress without any guardrails or reforms.
