It's never easy to live in this world
like a guest.
Thankfully, illness
is here to remind us.
That we are less than dust.
That we are more than sky.
That our breath is held by a mightier hand than our arrogant,
feeble limbs.
Pain never fails to teach its lesson—
fiercely, graciously. Completely
for free.
And if only we were to allow it—
oh, how tenderly
it would turn us into moments of pure beauty,
strokes of clarity
on the foggy canvas of life,
teaching the only lesson, the only
law of existence—
love.
