Karma and Fate
The memory of ages past,
Each breath, each heart's quick, sudden spin,
We weave into our fate, to last.
Karma and fate, all intertwined.
In this blood, ancestors' blood flows.
Who can discern where for kin we're assigned,
Or where for our own sins the blow bestows?
Through generations, we carry inside
Shadows and light, or evil and good.
Joy and sorrow in destiny ride,
Yet we are not given the choice, understood.
So you wander, bearing the weight of years,
Stumbling along or walking with pride.
Whether forward, or circling through fears—
Your life it is, yet another's beside.
To your descendants, you too will impart,
A tangle of genes and morals so deep,
You yourself will give all of your heart,
And strength, to those who the flame will then keep.
Karma and fate, all intertwined.
In this blood, ancestors' blood flows.
Who can discern where for kin we're assigned,
Or where for our own sins the blow bestows?
