A Soul Warmed Among the Snows

My Scandinavia, my Sweden,
The quiet and the snowy expanse so serene.
In my eyes — perhaps tears, perhaps a gleam of light,
For my soul, no place could ever feel more right.

All around it sparkles, gleams as if a fairy tale come true,
I stand in the frost, breathing the crisp air anew.
The road was long, but every step had meaning clear,
So my soul could be renewed, my life grow strong from here.

Ahead, a brook beside the path appeared to me,
It murmurs softly, singing through the quiet winter’s sea.
I take my mittens off and dip my hands into the stream,
The cold itself warms me, like a gentle, woven dream.

Velvet snow glitters silver in the sun’s warm glow,
In this light — peace, stillness, a charm I hold so dear, I know.
All around — a cherished, familiar pattern, clear and bright,
I’ve found my harbour, my wide-open space, my heart’s delight.
