Thousands of worlds thousands of words
Thousands of WORDS
Thousands of worlds beneath my skin,
Hundreds of songs I couldn't sing.
I wrote them down to make it stay,
Then watched the meaning change its shape.
I lost the files, I lost the phone,
Some worlds went silent, some still glow.
I can't remember what was first,
Which song was healing, which one hurt.
And every time I tried to say
What happened somewhere far away,
The human words would come undone —
Too much of everything in one.
Thousands of texts, hundreds of songs,
Tell me where all this time belongs.
How many lives can one heart hold
Before the story outgrows the soul?
Thousands of words, but now I know:
Not everything needs to be shown.
I'll leave what human hearts can hear,
And keep the rest somewhere in here...
There's rowanberry jam beside the tea,
A garden breathing quietly.
My children laugh, my husband calls —
The ordinary saves us all.
The universe can wait outside,
While I put both my feet inside
This little room, this cup, this day,
This fragile world that makes me stay.
Maybe I don't have to explain
The whole creation through my name.
Maybe a single human line
Can carry what a thousand can't define.
Maybe you don't have to know
The worlds I saw, the things below.
If something in my voice gets through—
Then that is all I need from you.
Thousands of texts, hundreds of songs,
Some were right and some were wrong.
Some disappeared, some still remain,
Like little sparks inside the rain.
Thousands of worlds — and yet today
I choose the ones that know the way.
Not every universe must be
Translated into you and me.
Thousands of texts.
Hundreds of songs.
Somewhere they breathe.
Somewhere they belong.
And what I cannot bring outside
I'll let remain
alive
inside.
