Deja VU
The clouds have gathered, soft and small,
like little sheep above it all.
And in my soul, through golden haze,
the autumn leaves have stopped their days.
Deja VU, Deja VU —
I don’t recall, I just know you.
Some finer world came drifting through,
and left its living trace of blue.
The clouds move on, but I remain
with something whispering in my vein.
A shape with neither form nor name
has found my heart and lit a flame.
Deja VU, Deja VU —
don’t take me back; just lead me through.
I’m not holding yesterday —
I feel tomorrow find its way.
And as it shimmers through the air,
I feel a world that isn’t there.
Did I create it in my sleep —
or did it cross the worlds to meet?
Deja VU, Deja VU —
perhaps the dream is dreaming too.
Perhaps what once lived deep in me
has crossed the veil to simply be.
My pure, alive, unfolding page,
my little love beyond the cage.
No past to keep, no debt to prove —
just something living:
deja vu.
