The Pass

Mist was settling on the trees,
Deep within the valley’s dry plains,
A lonely campfire’s embers flashing,
Guarded by ghosts in the snow.
[scary dance]

The Pass was singing its old song,
Summoning spirits to rise,
Avalanches crashed all along,
The fire died under white skies.
[scary music]

The final birds fell to silence,
A hush gripped the mountain crest,
Forget what your dreams try to promise,
Winter is breaking the rest.
[requiem]

/chorus/
Bitter winds biting and tearing,
Blizzards blind everything in sight,
The last of the life-force is fading,
And all is swallowed by night.
[unique sounds]

The Pass was singing its old song,
Summoning spirits to rise,
Avalanches crashed all along,
The fire died under white skies.
[requiem]

The snowdrifts are rising like oceans,
The hurricane roars through the gale,
Red roses are frozen and broken,
No tears for a deceptive tale.

/chorus/
Bitter winds biting and tearing,
Blizzards blind everything in sight,
The last of the life-force is fading,
And all is swallowed by night.
[unique sounds]

The Pass sang its song without warning,
Right by the Dead Mountain's head,
Everything's normal this morning:
Wise men walking where others bled.

The Pass was singing its old song,
Summoning spirits to rise,
Avalanches crashed all along,
The fire died under white skies.
[shamanic]

The Pass sang its song without warning,
Right by the Dead Mountain's head,
Everything's normal this morning:
Wise men walking where others bled.
