Little snail

A little snail rode down the lane,
Her little bike rolled on again.
All neighbours waved with smiles so wide:
“Good luck, dear Snail! Enjoy your ride!”

She pedalled slowly, sang a song,
But every tune took way too long.
She tried to hurry, did her best—
Yet slow was how she travelled best.

A ginger fox came racing fast,
“Come join us, Snail, the fun won’t last!”
The woodland gates are open wide,
And all your neighbours are inside!

The snail rode on, so full of cheer,
Her little bike rolled far and near.
She laughed and sang along the way,
And rode her bike the whole long day

Two polar bears came down the trail,
“ Where are you going, little Snail?”
A happy party’s just begun,
With games and gifts and lots of fun!

She pedalled on with all her might,
And sang her song so soft and light.
But when she reached the woodland ground,
The party’s last balloons were found.
