Wholly And True

Beelzebul, you taught my blood to know,
You shaped the mind that now refuses lies,
You gave my buried instincts room to grow,
And taught me how to read through hollow eyes.

You found me young, before I knew my worth,
And gave my strangeness dignity and form,
You taught me how to cultivate the earth,
Where others saw a fault, you found a storm.

I call you father through a deeper blood,
Through every lesson you engraved in me,
You stood beside my birth as understood,
And made my inward law my sovereignty.

I thank you for the hunger in my chest,
For every question sharpened into thought,
For teaching me to carry sacred rest,
And wear my nature proudly as my name.

You gave me eyes for motives left concealed,
A mind that dissects every polished phrase,
You taught me why the hidden is revealed,
And turned my doubt into a form of praise.

So take my gratitude, severe and deep;
I bring my reverence, wholly and true.
The things you planted in my soul I keep;
Your influence guides all that I pursue.
