Ballad about Jonny and Kelly

Johnny's our happy-go-lucky man,
Lucky guy with a master plan.
Girls are lined up at his door,
For that handsome cowboy!
But one day he met Kelly,
And his heart started rockin'!
With a smile she pulls him near,
Then she chases him away.

Johnny wasn't easy either,
Didn't treat women any better.
He'd swap girls all the time,
Falling out of love each and every time
But Kelly, she got to his heart,
So brave and bold  he went to her.
"I'm the best cowboy around,
You're gonna be my girl now!"

Kelly looked at him so sweet,
Then she told him:  « Hit the road!
Get lost, you know I'm not
Just some old worn-out sack!
I'm not gonna let every cowboy
Come and put on a show for me!"
Johnny was shocked at first,
Went and got himself drunk.

But then the thrill took hold-
Stronger than a poker hand.
He decided Kelly would
End up in his arms all the same! a
To make the girl like him
Our Johnny started shining,
Won the grand prize at the rodeo,
'Cause he was an adventurer!

But she won't let him get too close,
She's guarding her honor tight!
What to do with stubborn Kelly,
It's driving him out of his mind!
He even forgot about other girls,
Though he was known as a ladies' man!
That's just the way it goes
Sometimes in this old town!!!

The hot summer had arrived,
Not a drop of rain survived.
In the gardens and the fields,
Everything was drying in the towns.
The men were haulin' water,
Tryin' to save what they could.
But one night, dark as coal,
The corrals suddenly caught fire,

For the horses and the cows,
From the heat and from the wind...
The whole town was in a panic,
Barrels and buckets, didn't wait a minute,
Got to work to save the day,
And get the animals away.
Johnny was there with all the folks,
Bringin' water to his neighbors.
Kelly, she was there too,
Led the herd down to the river.

John saw the fire had spread
And it swallowed up the wagon.
There was diesel and gasoline,
And kerosene for the farm.
He ran to the wagon, with friend beside him,
"We can't let this thing explode!"
And while they were haulin' water
The cart blew up in flames.

The fire burned poor John,
But water of bucket couldn`t to save him.
Kelly came runnin' to him,
Don't know why, but she did,
Dragged him away from the wagon,
Forgot all her troubles and strife
And she saved him from death,
Believe it or not...

John opened up his eyes,
Kelly there, like healing balm.
"I love you," he told her straight,
"Now don't be so stubborn,
Be my wife for all my days,
I'm a serious man!"
And she answered him back:
"I love you, my sunshine!

I'll be your wife,
if you'll marry me!"
So the fire brought together
Two hearts that were meant to be...
From that day on, side by side
John and Kelly built their home.
John became a farmer, and luck
Never left him after all.

Ever since that day they're two,
John and Kelly built a home.
Had a big ol' weddin too,
Whole town came and all their own.
John became a farmer man,
Luck stayed with him hand in hand.
And Kelly, oh she loves her Macho,
Just as much as he loves her now...
