A flight into love

Поэтический перевод произведения «Бегство в любовь»
автор исходника на русском языке – [Сергей Ворошилов]

We were hit by a storm, and the dome of the sky’s upside down!
And we’re running and laughing and crossing the street by jaywalking.
It’s a flight into love, where all quarrels with you—silly talking.
And we’re rushing to dreams, in a hurry, in fate we do drown.

We're honked at by cabs, and their brakes in hysterics do yell.
We are keeping ourselves off the asphalt at speeds of a flurry.
O’er a featureless crowd, subjugating the steps in a hurry,
And, our love glorifying, the storm on the kettledrum fell.

I am looking at you, with delight, like a poet’s eyes set
The new day, born again, through the fog on the spectacle glasses.
And your chintz mini dress is soaked through from the rainwater splashes.
Thus revealing the wished-for and painfully craved silhouette.

Seven colors of heaven cry out—the whole life is ahead.
And your locks are all sparkling from crazy and frolicsome droplets.
And the scamper of feet all around with the crazed people’s couplets...
And since then I do love when these summerly rain showers shed.
