Napoleon crossing the Rhine

Across the sea, fellow, hear the story,
Flew across the foam,
Greatest tale about the glory
That might "surely" lead us home:
Through the bridge on the Rhine river
Crossed Napoleon...
He was Stuart's incarnation in the flesh and the bone!

Across the stones of the Rhine River
Rode Napoleon:
Peoples spread beneath like carpets
Binding in "Uni'on".
Heavy steps that crushed the tyrants' fancies,
By Napoleon...
He was winded with ambitions of his own.

[Припев]
So... that's the tale of Bonaparte,
Stuart, Bonnie, France and Tone...
No one knew his true intentions —
So we'll drink now at home!
He never made us free, alas, my friend —
He met his Austerlitz,
All the glory, all the thunder rose,
So drink for it, please!

After mighty wading through the mountains
Thought Napoleon:
Let me swallow the empires
In one gulp as a whole!
Through the breach in the Alpine valley
Marched Napoleon,
He was chasing all who dared him in Tyrol.

Then he messed with the wrong 'Lexander
'N stumbled in the snow,
He forgot all that he wanted,
Falling out of control.
Through the rubble stones of Rhine River
Ran Napoleon,
He was choking with ambitions of his own.

[Припев]
That's the tale of Bonaparte,
Habsburgs, Cossacks, France and Rome...
No one knew his true intentions —
So we'll drink now at home!
He never made us free, alas, my lad —
He met his Waterloo,
All the glory, all the banners fell...
And what could we do?
