Don’t mourn that people fail to see your light,
Or leave your worth hidden from their sight.
Seek wisdom first, and let your spirit grow,
To learn the hearts of those within your night.
Why grieve that men ignore your noble soul?
Or fail to see you play a worthy role?
Be wise and turn your gaze upon the crowd,
To know the world is to become the whole.
Don’t fret that you are unknown to the throng,
Or that your virtues go unseen for long.
Be wise, and learn to know the souls of men;
To understand the world is where you belong.
