Not Me - You
— after Plato
I keep a low profile -
perhaps that’s the clue.
The story isn’t about me -
it’s all about you.
I linger between the lines,
a shadow passing through.
For the quietest voice
Reveals the most of you.
I am not the center of the picture,
nor the name upon the page.
I am humbly here to show -
what is hidden behind the stage.
So look beyond my silence,
past what I choose to do -
the story was never mine to tell.
It has always been about you.

Let him conceive his own mystery
In reflection mistakes will bloom
But sunny conclusion kills the gloom
You're not ideal, and it sets U free ❤

The "I/me" is the humble, almost invisible person, while the "you" is the person whose life is being touched or changed by that quiet presence. The person "I" enters someone’s life almost unnoticed, never becoming the center of the story. Yet their presence may reveal something, lighten something, or awaken something within the "you". Sometimes we only understand the significance of such people after they have quietly passed through our lives.
Some kind of a modern take on an old sophistication...
