I found a scheme and built a ship,
Anticipation began to build.
The Earth now smaller down below,
A little tiny blue warm ball.

I crossed the dark in seven days,
Through empty space and solar haze.
The Moon was sleeping, cold and white,
Like a mirage in desert's night.

Then something moved

A long tail, enormous ears,

I didn't have an escape plan.
I took a step — it took one too.
I stopped, it stopped. What could I do?

Then it sat down beside my feet

It looked at Earth.

Needs someone waiting just in case.

I went to the ship and closed the door.
The beast outside looked ready for more.
I watched it through the cabin's glass
As lunar mountains slowly passed.

Then from behind I heard a sound.
I froze before I turned around.
Two black eyes.
A silver back.
I guess I'll bring the moon beast back.
