The price of flesh

The moon is dripping like a wound upon the olive stones,
Thirty pieces burning holes inside my hollow bones.
The prophecy is ticking like a bomb beneath the dust,
The carpenter of Nazareth has crushed my will to trust.
I led them through the shadows with a promise of a king,
But the sword I drew in anger was a temporary thing.
They call me traitor, villain, the scapegoat for the age,
But I’m just the final paragraph upon their holy page.

The garden smells of failure... and the myrrh of bitter fate...
I shake the hand of destiny... but now it’s much too late...

JUDAS! KISS OF BRONZE!
The price of flesh is paid in scorn!
JUDAS! KING OF THORNS!
I hang my guilt before the dawn!
The garden weeps in silent dread,
The blood of peace is boiling red—
I built the cross with my own breath,
And now I kiss the face of death!

The high priests count their silver, but their eyes are full of fear,
They saw him turn the water, they saw the blind man clear.
But power is a serpent, and it swallows every light,
I gave them what they wanted just to win my petty fight.
The gardener is praying while the soldiers grab the prize,
I see him stare right through me with the fury of the skies.
No forgiveness in that stare, just the echo of the bell,
I sold the son of heaven for a story they won't tell.

The rope is twisting tighter... and the branch begins to crack...
I thought I knew the ending... but I cannot take it back...

JUDAS! KISS OF BRONZE!
The price of flesh is paid in scorn!
JUDAS! KING OF THORNS!
I hang my guilt before the dawn!
The garden weeps in silent dread,
The blood of peace is boiling red—
I built the cross with my own breath,
And now I kiss the face of death!

"Forgive them... they know not what they do..."
But I know.
I know the weight of silver.
I know the weight of shame.
I am the cursed accountant,
Playing the devil’s game.
The potter’s field is waiting,
For the bones of the betrayed—
One man falls to balance all,
So the prophecy is made.

JUDAS! KISS OF BRONZE!
The stars are falling from the dome!
JUDAS! ALL IS LOST!
I turned the wine to gall and frost!
The garden dies in crimson flame,
I have no one left to blame—
I bought the world for thirty rings,
Now hear the bells the vengeance sings!

"...Hail... the King... of the Jews..."
