The Streetcar of Desire

The Streetcar of Desire — we’re passengers on board,
By passion’s fire, both men and women are floored.
We search for love, we chase its fleeting light,
We fall in love, yet fear it in the night.

The streetcar of desire speeds through our days,
Lost in the maze of dreams and tempting ways.
While we are young, with strength and fire in veins,
We mock the moral laws and social chains.

So love’s desires drive us down the track,
With memories left behind, no turning back.
The streetcar rushes on, past loves untold,
Yet dreaming of them still, as we grow old.

Full of regrets and memories held dear,
With all the human pain and suffering here,
Like life on rails, we race toward the skies—
It’s sad that humans lack the wings to rise!
