September is gone
Thoughts are drowning, hopes are gone.
Burnt bridges' smoke is drifting away,
Summer is gone, it has faded to grey.
Now the city hides from the pouring rain,
Washing away every tear and the pain.
Cleansing the dust and the hopes we once held,
Now September is gone, and the magic has fled.
September is gone, our love torn apart,
No escape from the ache in my heart.
Summer slipped by like we weren't even there,
All that we loved is erased, stripped bare.
Between us now lie blurred routes in the night,
Lonely gray minutes are fading from sight.
Breathe out, breathe in, a new dawn is born,
No warmth, no colors, the daylight is torn.
Grey concrete cools as the city awakes,
Feelings like leaves that the autumn wind breaks.
Telling myself that the pain goes away,
It will get better, but the scars will stay.
I try to laugh, but it sounds so frail,
Lost in the gray of a life so stale.
If you come back, summer will return,
But right now, there's nothing left to burn.
A new dawn is here?
The colors disappear...
