Do you recall?

Поэтический перевод произведения «Ты помнишь?»
автор исходника на русском языке – [Кэт Грин]

Recall the fall outside the pane.
It whirled around in circle dancing,
And hit the solid ground as rain, –
We even liked her till romancing.

Do you recall that sliding wood,
That gleamed outside in its attire?
It dashed away; it fled for good,
A fence hole, quickly torn well prior.

Do you recall that moon’s white chill,
That saw you off down to the station?
Without shattering the still,
We did our hands' unification.

Your hand, I fear letting go;
To spook the viewless bird, I fear.
I dread at once that I won't know,
When you, in dreams, cease to appear.

What now? I see no turning back.
And I can’t start from the beginning.
The one last time the dawn went dark,
When I called you, when I was screaming...

It’s gone. It’s over. It is lost.
I’m sorry that we came to parting.
I’d fall, my vision having closed.
And I would soar, my life restarting.
